20 March 2023 - The students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have added another feather to their cap by securing second and third positions in drama and elocution events, respectively during the Sarv Bharati National Inter University Youth Festival, organized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi at the Jain University, Bengaluru recently. Tarun Kapoor, a PAU student, clinched the third prize in elocution.

Congratulating the students for competing with 2,500 students from 125 Indian Universities, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, stated that co-curricular activities helped youths to nurture their talent, instill self-confidence and enhance their personalities by participating in plethora of events be it literary, cultural or sports.

Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, applauded the dedicated efforts of the students who made it to the national level youth festival and won laurels, thus, taking their alma-mater to greater heights. He exhorted them to keep up their competitive spirits and beef up their dedication for the next upcoming national youth festival.

Mr Satvir Singh, Supervisor, Cultural Activities, informed that the students worked hard day and night to compete in a wide range of events comprising music, theater, dances, fine arts and literature.

Dr Jaswinder Brar, Incharge Cultural Activities, told that the PAU students were gearing up to participate in the Inter Agricultural Universities Youth Festival to be organized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

Present on the occasion were Dr Rupinder Kaur Toor, President of Fine Arts Club; Dr Vishal Bector, President of Dance-drama- music club; Dr Ashoo Toor, Dr Anureet Kaur Chandi, Dr Sharanbir Kaur Bal, Dr Amandeep Kaur, Dr Priyanka Goyal, Dr Karanvir Singh Gill and Dr Nilesh Bilwalkar.
